Cinder Tor Iridium Lode

Deposit Rheasilvia basin, Vesta, 40-310 m below surface

Cinder Tor is the richest iridium find in the Guild's history. The lode is the shattered remnant of a metallic impactor that struck Vesta roughly a billion years ago and was folded into the floor of the Rheasilvia basin. It sits between 40 and 310 metres below the regolith, a lens of iron-nickel breccia about 1.4 kilometres long and 600 metres wide.

The anomaly first showed up in 2185 as a sharp positive density contrast on a Gravwell Gradiometer Array pass flown from a Valkyrie Survey Corvette. Drill Master Bastien Kowalczyk's crew then put down eleven holes with the Corehound Deep Core Drill, recovering 2.9 kilometres of core. Averaged across the intercepts, assays return 14.2 g/t iridium, 6.8 g/t osmium and 22 g/t platinum, with a modelled resource of about 38 million tonnes.

The claim, FV-0412, is Guild-held and marked by 26 Claimstake Survey Markers ringing the surface footprint. Chief Assayer Imani Oduya's laboratory at Rheasilvia Toolworks, barely nine kilometres away, handles the check assays. Development drilling resumes next quarter, and the Guild expects to bring in an Ironmonger Field Refinery once the stripping ratio is confirmed.
