Open Survey Tools Hackathon

Bring a laptop, a team or just curiosity. For three days the Guildhall Commons turns into a hacking floor for the Guild's open-source survey tools, with mentors from the Survey Division on hand around the clock.

Magnetometry Lead Rukmini Sato and gravimetry data scientist Liang Qiao, who wrote the MagFuse Inversion Engine, will set challenges on joint inversion of Pickaxe Survey Drone and Gravwell Gradiometer Array data. Anchoring rigger Tavita Fale wants help teaching TetherPlan to handle tumbling contact-binary asteroids. Other tracks cover AssayKit calibrations and ClaimGrid overlap detection.

Every team gets a slice of the Belt Aeromagnetic Grid and the Vesta Gravity Model to work with. Prizes include a week aboard a Valkyrie Survey Corvette on a live survey and a lifetime Guild forge account. Remote teams are welcome.
