Liang Qiao

Gravimetry Data Scientist Survey Division

Liang Qiao turns gravity measurements into maps people can use. Working from the Occator guildhall on Ceres, she built the processing pipeline behind the Vesta Gravity Model v3, a 250-metre Bouguer grid that flagged 73 buried metal-body candidates, including the target that led to the Cinder Tor iridium discovery.

Qiao champions open data inside the guild and argued successfully for releasing survey results under Creative Commons licences once claims are secured. She also maintains the scripts that merge Gravwell Gradiometer Array readings with magnetics in the MagFuse Inversion Engine. She runs the guild's monthly data clinic for prospectors who want help reading a gravity map before they stake a claim.
