Anchoring Rigger Field Operations

Tavita Fale makes it possible to work on rocks with almost no gravity. As the guild's senior anchoring rigger, he fixes crews, rigs and refineries to tumbling asteroids using the Tether Anchor Kit, whose spikes bite 18 metres into rock and hold up to 3,200 kilograms on a 300-metre tether.

Fale pioneered the guild's spin-down method, in which two Basilisk Salvage Tugs pull against anchored tethers to slow a rubble pile until it is safe to drill. He used it on the Hollow Sister rubble pile in 2185 and on the Ferric Twins binary a year later. He wrote much of the load logic in the TetherPlan Anchoring Calculator and personally signs off every anchor plan before a crew steps onto the surface.
