Shackleton Platinum Exchange
The Shackleton Platinum Exchange has been the main marketplace for platinum, iridium, rhodium and palladium in cislunar space since 2152. Buyers from Earth, L5 Lagrange Station and the Belt trade bars, sponge and concentrate through its vaults at Shackleton on Luna, and the Exchange's assay stamp is accepted across the inner system.
To verify what it buys, the Exchange uses 25 Spectra Assay Lances for rapid checks on incoming lots, a 5.5 million credit purchase, and sends doubtful material to Imani Oduya's laboratory on Vesta for a full fire assay. It also owns sixty Claimstake Survey Markers that it places on claims it holds as collateral for prospector loans, so it can track them from the registry.
The Exchange is a regular bidder at the Ceres Claims Auction, where it often buys claims outright and resells production contracts. Auction Director Inês Carvalho-Roy meets its traders several times a year, and the Exchange quotes her monthly price outlook in its own bulletins. Metal reaches Luna aboard chartered Leviathan Ore Haulers.
