Ceres Core Library

Survey dataset Guild core repository, Ceres, 48 km of core

In a pressurised vault beneath the Guildhall at Occator, the Guild keeps 48 kilometres of drill core from 22 years of drilling across the Belt. The Ceres Core Library is its online catalogue.

Every box of core from a Corehound Deep Core Drill is photographed wet and dry, logged for lithology by a geologist and split for assay. The library publishes those photographs, downhole assay intervals and lithology logs, searchable by hole, element and grade. You can, for example, list every interval above 5 g/t rhodium or every metre of iron-nickel breccia logged in the last decade.

It is licensed CC-BY-NC-4.0: free for research, teaching and personal prospecting, with commercial reuse needing a licence from the Claims Office. Physical core can be inspected by appointment, and a viewing room overlooks the racks.

About 2 kilometres of new core arrive each year, mostly from the Kerwan Rhodium Vein and the Cinder Tor lode. Members can request a split of any interval for their own assays, subject to the library's sampling rules.
