Microgravity Anchoring Masterclass

Meetup Hosted by HSW Rigging Bay, Guildhall, Occator

On a small asteroid, a careless step sends you into orbit. Anchoring Rigger Tavita Fale runs this two-day masterclass in setting and testing Tether Anchor Kits, the Guild's standard way to hold crews and gear on low-gravity bodies.

Day one covers the basics: anchor placement, 18-metre penetration charges, tether management and the 3,200 kg rated holding load. Day two moves to planning with TetherPlan and rehearsing a spin-down of a tumbling rubble pile alongside a Basilisk Salvage Tug crew.

Places are limited to sixteen. Completing the course is required before working on the Hollow Sister or Ferric Twins claims.

Tavita has led anchoring on more than eighty small-body landings without a single lost crew member, and the course draws heavily on those stories. Lunch and practice equipment are provided; bring your own suit liner.
