Valkyrie Survey Pilots' Meetup
Gravity surveying is unforgiving for a pilot. A Gravwell Gradiometer Array wants straight, steady lines at constant altitude, and every thruster burn shows up as noise. This meetup brings together the Guild's Valkyrie Survey Corvette pilots and the analysts who process their data.
Valkyrie Survey Pilot Amaru Condori talks about flying lines over Vesta and Phobos, and about launching and recovering Pickaxe Survey Drones from the corvette's bay. Gravimetry data scientist Liang Qiao shows the other side: how flight noise is removed and what a clean line looks like.
Drinks and food in the pilots' mess. Open to all pilots and survey crew, Guild members or not.
The evening ends with a short ceremony for pilots passing 1,000 survey hours this year. Anyone interested in learning to fly survey lines can talk to Amaru about the Guild's pilot rotation.
