Stickney Rim Rover Field Day

Meetup Hosted by HSW Stickney Station, Phobos

Phobos is the easiest place in the inner system to see real prospecting up close, and this field day puts visitors in the seat of a Lodeseeker Prospector Rover. Rover Crew Chief Kofi Mensah-Hart leads a twenty-kilometre traverse along the Stickney Rim Neodymium Field, stopping at radar stations and sample points.

At each stop, guests use a Spectra Assay Lance to shoot the regolith and watch neodymium and dysprosium grades appear on screen. Senior Geophysicist Teodor Vasquez-Lin explains how those readings join the 14,200 points of the Phobos LIBS Assay Atlas, and why the rim's ejecta blanket concentrates rare earths.

Three rovers run, each carrying up to two guests alongside the crew. Suits, tethers and lunch at Stickney Station are provided. Visitors arriving from Mars ride up on the Guild's scheduled Wren Microlifter shuttle.
