Rhodium Reach Salvage Co.

Founded 2177 Website

Rhodium Reach Salvage Co. was started in 2177 by two former guild riggers who realised that the Belt was littered with metal worth recovering: abandoned drill stations, wrecked ore carriers and spent rubble piles still carrying platinum-group metals. The company takes its name from the catalyst-rich reactor housings it strips for rhodium.

Salvage work in microgravity means anchoring to things that tumble. Rhodium Reach owns twenty Tether Anchor Kits, together worth 9.6 million credits, and one Corehound Deep Core Drill that it uses to sample old mining sites before reprocessing them. Its three Basilisk Salvage Tugs pull derelicts out of the shipping lanes and slow spinning rocks using the guild's spin-down technique.

Anchoring Rigger Tavita Fale trained most of the company's crews and helped them run the TetherPlan Anchoring Calculator on wrecks rather than asteroids. Recovered metal goes to the Vesta Crucible Refining Combine for processing, and Rhodium Reach regularly bids on worked-out claims at the Ceres Claims Auction.
