Wiremu Tane

Wiremu Tane trains the next generation of prospectors. From the guild's Tharsis camp on Mars he runs the eighteen-month apprenticeship that every new Ferrovane member completes, covering sampling, claim staking, rover driving and survival in vacuum.

Tane has trained 410 apprentices since 2177. His first lesson is always the same: a day spent with nothing but a Spectra Assay Lance and a Claimstake Survey Marker, learning to read rock before trusting any drone or array. He organises the guild's field days on Mars and Phobos, where apprentices demonstrate their skills to prospective crew chiefs, and he arranges for each graduating class to ride a Wren Microlifter to orbit.
