Hester Mbeki

Hester Mbeki directs Rheasilvia Toolworks on Vesta, the workshop where Ferrovane designs and builds its own survey gear. Under her leadership the Toolworks has grown to 340 staff and a catalogue of twelve products, from the 0.2 million credit Claimstake Survey Marker to the 58 million credit Ironmonger Field Refinery.

Mbeki's philosophy is that prospectors should never have to wait for an outside supplier to fix a broken tool. She green-lit the Gravwell Gradiometer Array in 2183 and is now shepherding the Swarm Prospecting Beacons prototype through field trials. She meets every quarter with Halcyon Stellar Works engineers to agree interfaces between Toolworks equipment and Halcyon hulls such as the Valkyrie Survey Corvette.
