Drill Master Drilling Crews

Bastien Kowalczyk has run drill crews for the guild since 2171 and supervised the very first Corehound Deep Core Drill deployment a year later. As Drill Master he is responsible for eleven rigs, the six-person crews that operate them and the 48 kilometres of core now stored in the Ceres Core Library.

His proudest hole is CT-19 at Cinder Tor on Vesta, a 2,350-metre directional borehole that intersected 31 metres of iridium-bearing breccia. Kowalczyk insists on hand-logging the first metre of every core run before any scanner touches it. He moves rigs between bodies in the hold of a Leviathan Ore Hauler and is known for refusing to spud a hole until the Tether Anchor Kit has been load-tested twice.
